A high standard of professional golf tuition is available at the club through our association with BARKER GOLF COACHING and PGA Professional Steve Barker. Formerly the Club Professional at the prestigious Royal Worlington Golf Club and Head Coach to the Cambridge University, Steve has a vast amount of experience teaching golfers of all levels and abilities over the last 25 years. His passion for teaching is obvious for all to see. Together with his faithful companion “Arnie” and armed with a tour bag full of innovative teaching tools, Steve will guide you towards a better game in a proven and uncomplicated way.
Steve’s coaching philosophy isn’t just to get you to swing the club better but to also help you cope with all the various situation you will find yourself in on the course. All aspect of the game are covered from tee shots to course management, so that you can learn how to shoot lower scores. The tranquil setting of the coaching area provides the perfect environment for you to gain the most from your lesson. The area, which is currently under construction, is equipped with everything you need to discover a better game:
- Driving range mats
- Grass lesson tee
- Target hole
- Practice bunker
- Sloping lies mound
- Rough area
- Putting & Chipping green
The coaching area also allows Steve to cover the rules and etiquette of golf so that you will feel more confident about this aspect of golf when you are out on the course.

We want all our golfers to raise the level of their play and enjoy their games more. If you are committed to improving the standard of your golf then PGA Qualified Professional tuition is essential. Therefore all our lesson options are heavily subsidised allowing you to benefit from top quality coaching for less. You can also take advantage of discounted mid-week golf after your lesson on both the Valley course and the Par3. Coaching is available six days a week (Tuesdays - Sundays) from 8.30am
